Pre K Comets Teaching Staff

Janis Filipovich, Megan Link, Cheetah Gales, and Kelsey Hankey

Miss Janis is the head teacher at our University Pre-K Counts site. She has worked for Indi Kids since 2006 and was the teacher for the Pre-K Bears classroom since the 2007-2008 school year. Janis loves teaching Pre-K  and seeing the children grow up every year. She sees her role in your child’s life as someone they can trust and respect and is excited to see them succeed in Kindergarten and in life. She believes that by working with you as a team, your child will have a sturdy foundation for learning and developing friendships. Janis is married to Bob Filipovich and is the mother of Julia, Garrick, Rhys and Chloe. She also has 5 step-children and 14 step-grandchildren. As you can imagine, they are a very busy family! Her daughters cheer for Cheer Trixx in Penn Run while her sons play junior legion baseball for Marion Center and are in the MC Marching Band. Garrick runs in cross country and track and Rhys plays football. In her spare time, Janis coaches the adaptive team for Cheer Trixx. Janis and her husband are family focused and love every minute of their time together!  And yes, while they are a little bit tired, they realize that all too soon their children will be grown and their nest will be empty!

Hello! I am Miss Megan, and I’m the assistant teacher in the Pre-k Counts classroom. I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2021 with my bachelor's degree in Education. In 2022, I graduated with my master's degree as a Reading Specialist. I’m officially done with college, and I couldn’t be more excited to start my career at Indi Kids. I recently got married to my high school sweetheart and we have a mini labradoodle named Willow. Willow brings so much joy and entertainment to our lives. In my free time, I adore spending time with my family and traveling with my husband. I also find joy in learning new ways to create a welcoming and loving environment for our  students here at Indi Kids. Thank you for taking the time to read some information about me and I hope to teach your kiddos one day! 

Miss Cheetah

Miss Kelsey started in October 2022 as a substitute in the Homer-Center classroom and also fills at our other classrooms as needed. She lives in Homer City with her husband and 3 children and has been a stay at home mom for the last 10 years. Kelsey graduated from Clarion University with a bachelors degree in business but has always loved working with children. She has spent a lot of time babysitting, volunteering in the PTA at her children's school, coaching t-ball and softball, and when the opportunity came up to sub in a classroom- she jumped on it! Kelsey spends her time at her children's many activities and sports, camping nearly every weekend, swimming, thrifting, and simply just being with family and friends. Kelsey’s favorite thing about working at Indi Kids is getting to know all of our wonderful children and knowing she is making a difference in their lives.
